who we are

AwareNearth is a nonprofit association based in Geneva, Switzerland, founded in March 2025. We believe that sharing diverse worldviews on existential risks is essential to enhancing human well-being and protecting the natural world for future generations.

AwareNearth is officially registered as a nonprofit organization in Geneva, Switzerland (CH-660.0.890.025-7) . The association is registered at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE - IPI 825208).

This strategic choice leverages Geneva’s unique ecosystem of international diplomacy, scientific research, and humanitarian action. Our registration establishes a foundation for transparent governance and long-term sustainability, ensuring we operate with the integrity required of a global non-governmental organization.

AwareNearth is a member of the Fédération des Entreprises Romandes (FER) and was supported in its establishment by the Centre d’Accueil de la Genève Internationale (CAGI).

Founder & committee

Chris Guillot, a former UN Official and Swiss Diplomat, brings 25 years of field experience in international development, energy, natural resources, agronomy, climate change, and environmental ethics. Working with the Swiss Agency for Development, the International Committee of the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and the World Bank across 100 countries, he directed United Nations agencies on global energy and environmental health strategies across 63 nations. As Senior Advisor to the American Geophysical Union (AGU), he connected scientists, diplomats, and ethicists to local communities, merging Global North and Global South institutions across 143 countries. Chris addresses our era’s paradoxes, uniting diverse voices to restore planetary consciousness and the vital reconnection between humanity and nature, our best ally.
